Sulcorebutia rauschii Ø 14

Sulcorebutia rauschii Ø 14, supplied in an elegant terracotta pot from our Manera Line. It charms with its globular, geometric stem, olive-green to deep purple hues, and flat, non-prickly spines. In spring it produces spectacular, large magenta flowers. A slow-growing gem, ideal for small spaces and lovers of rare succulents. The more correct sunlight it receives, the more its epidermis turns to an intense violet-fuchsia. The flowers often exceed the diameter of the plant itself.

Growing notes:

  • Exposure: full sun or very bright light; tolerates partial shade but loses its purple coloration.
  • Watering: moderate in spring/summer, allow the substrate to dry out between waterings; almost completely stop in winter.
  • Soil type: very well-draining, ideally a cactus mix with sand, pumice, and lapilli.
  • Fertilizing: once a month during the growing season with a low-nitrogen cactus fertilizer.
  • Caution: dislikes waterlogging and temperatures below 2-3°C (35-37°F) if the soil is damp.
