Haemanthus coccineus Ø 12 cm

Belonging to the family of Amarillidaceae, this Haemanthus coccineus comes in a Ø 12 cm pot with a label indicating its botanical name. This Haemanthus coccineus is part of Cactusmania’s hybrid collection, has been cultivated for a long time, and has been selected for its hypnotic uniqueness.

Haemanthus coccineus is a small bulbous plant, also called ‘Blood Flower’ in reference to the red colour of its beautiful scarlet flowers that grow from the underground bulb. Flowering takes place in late summer with the shiny flowers with brightly coloured petals that vary from coral to scarlet and have a waxy texture. After flowering, green, fleshy, lance-shaped leaves arise from the bulb, disappearing in June when the plant goes into vegetative rest.
