Aeonium Arboreum ‘Nigra’ Ø 18 cm

Aeonium Arboreum ‘Nigra’ is one of the most spectacular, iconic, and striking succulent plants in the entire Crassulaceae family. Also known by the commercial names Black Head or Black Rose, this perennial shrub is a true icon for both experienced collectors and plant lovers. At the top of each stem, spectacular, compact spiral rosettes stand out, with a dark, almost black bordeaux colour. In late spring, majestic clusters of bright yellow flowers emerge from the centre of mature rosettes.

Cultivation notes:

• Exposure: enjoys direct or very bright sunlight. In full sun, the dark colour becomes more intense. Tolerates partial shade but tends to turn greenish.
• Watering: moderate in spring/summer (every 7-10 days when the soil is dry), reduce significantly in autumn/winter (once a month or less). Avoid waterlogging.
• Soil type: well-draining, specific for cacti and succulents (mix of sand, pumice, lapilli or perlite with a little universal potting soil).
• Fertilisation: once a month in spring/summer with a low-nitrogen fertiliser for succulents. Withhold in winter.
• Propagation: by rosette or stem cuttings, allow the cut to dry before planting in dry soil.
• Temperature: does not tolerate frost (minimum 5-7°C). In winter, keep protected from cold.

It requires little care, loves light, and fears water stagnation. Perfect for succulent collectors and lovers of rare plants.
