Corpuscularia lehmannii Ø 14

Presented in an elegant terracotta pot from our exclusive Manera Line, in the world of botanical collecting, this succulent is also known by several historical and commercial synonyms – including Delosperma lehmannii and Crassula lehmannii – yet its visual identity remains unmistakable. Its timeless appeal lies in the remarkable three-dimensional structure of its leaves: thick, fleshy, with sharp, angular edges, arranged in opposite pairs along the stems, in a matte shade ranging from green to blue-grey. In high summer, the plant produces delightful daisy-like inflorescences of bright, sunny yellow, creating a vivid contrast with its sculptural form.

CULTIVATION NOTES

• Exposure: thrives in bright, preferably filtered light; tolerates direct sun during the cooler hours but should be protected from the harshest midday rays in summer.
• Watering: allow the substrate to dry out completely between waterings; reduce significantly in winter, just enough to prevent root desiccation.
• Soil type: requires a well-draining, aerated mix, ideally with coarse sand, pumice, or volcanic lapilli; optimal pH is neutral to slightly acidic.
• Fertilisation: from spring to late summer, apply a specific cactus and succulent fertiliser, diluted to half strength, every 3–4 weeks.
• Flowering: occurs between June and August, with bright yellow flowers that open in sunny conditions and close at night or during overcast weather.
• Curiosity: in its natural habitat, it grows among the rocks of South Africa, where its angular leaves channel morning dew toward the root system – a remarkable adaptation to arid environments.

Easy to care for, it demands little attention: the key to success is avoiding waterlogging, its only true enemy. An elegant, minimalist presence, capable of enriching any space with its quiet, refined character.
