Lithops (Living Stones) Ø 14

Lithops (Living Stones) Ø 14, supplied in an elegant terracotta pot from our Manera Line.

Lithops are tiny South African succulent plants that perfectly mimic the shape and colour of pebbles to camouflage and survive. Formed by just two fleshy fused leaves, they are famous for their unique life cycle and large daisy-like white or yellow flowers that appear in autumn. A real space-saver, perfect for collectors and those looking for an exceptional, low-maintenance plant.

Growing notes:

  • Exposure: Full sun or bright light. Indoors, place on the sunniest windowsill.
  • Watering: Very scarce. Water only when the soil is completely dry. Stop watering entirely during winter dormancy and during the moulting period (between winter and spring).
  • Soil type: Extremely well-draining. Use a succulent mix with plenty of sand, pumice, or perlite.
  • Fertilising: Once a year, in autumn, with a cactus fertiliser diluted to half strength.
  • Curiosity: Every year, between winter and spring, Lithops moult. The old pair of leaves splits open to make room for a new pair growing from within. The old leaves turn yellow and dry up completely, giving all their water to the new ones. This is a natural behaviour. Never water them during this stage.

Requires little care, loves light, and fears waterlogging.
