Tephrocactus geometricus ‘Pink’ ‘Diablo’ Ø 14

Tephrocactus geometricus ‘Pink’ ‘Diablo’ – Ø 14 cm, supplied in an elegant terracotta pot from our Manera Line.

Highly sought after by collectors for its elegant and eye‑catching appearance. This special selection stands out for its almost perfectly spherical segments that develop by stacking one on top of another. Under strong sunlight, the stem turns into a fascinating purple‑violet hue, contrasted by the dark, prominent spines of the ‘Diablo’ clone. To complete this wonder, a spectacular flowering in bright pink tones.

Exposure: full sun or very bright light; tolerates intense heat, but protect from scorching during the hottest hours if the pot is small.

Watering: water moderately from spring to late summer, waiting for the substrate to dry out completely between waterings. In winter, withhold almost entirely, especially if kept cool.

Soil type: needs a very well‑draining mix, ideally with 60–70% inert materials (pumice, volcanic grit, coarse sand) plus a little peat or universal potting soil.

Fertilizing: during the growing season, apply a low‑nitrogen cactus fertilizer diluted to half strength once a month.

Flowering: yes, it produces intense pink flowers with lighter centres, appearing in late spring – summer, usually at the top of the mature segments.

Curiosities: this ‘Pink’ clone is a rare selection that enhances pinkish tones both in the body and in the flower. Growth is slow, but each new segment displays a perfect geometry that makes it a true collector’s gem. Hardy and long‑lived, it requires little care but appreciates being left undisturbed during winter dormancy.
