Trichocereus huascha Ø 14

Trichocereus huascha, supplied in an elegant terracotta pot Ø 14 cm from our Manera Line. The plant grows cylindrical stems that naturally tend to branch and clump abundantly from the base, creating over time splendid dense and geometric clusters.

Flowering
The true highlight of this cactus is its blooming. From late spring to summer, the stems are crowned with buds that give rise to impressive flowers (up to 10 cm in diameter). The petals, with a silky texture, display incredible warm shades (from scarlet red to orange). Flowers open during the day.

Growing notes

  • Exposure: full sun or very bright light; tolerates intense heat.
  • Watering: regular in spring/summer (let the soil dry out between waterings); reduce or stop in winter. Avoid waterlogging.
  • Soil type: very well-draining, with coarse sand, pumice, or perlite. Ideal cactus mix.
  • Fertilizing: once a month in spring/summer with a low-nitrogen cactus fertilizer.
  • Frost hardiness: surprisingly tolerant, withstands brief frosts down to -5°C if kept dry.
  • Curiosity: one of the most adaptable and forgiving cacti. Flowers attract pollinators such as bees and hummingbirds.
