Botanical and cultivation notes

Exposure: thrives in bright light but benefits from protection against the harshest midday summer rays to prevent scorching the variegated areas. Tolerates direct sun in the morning and late afternoon.

Watering: water only when the substrate is completely dry. In summer, every 7–10 days; in winter, reduce to a minimum. Avoid waterlogging, which can cause root rot.

Soil: requires a well-draining, porous medium – ideally a succulent mix with added pumice or perlite (at least 50% inert material).

Fertilization: apply a specific fertilizer for cacti and succulents, low in nitrogen and rich in potassium and phosphorus, once a month during the growing season (spring–summer).
