Succulent plant with a perfectly symmetrical rosette shape. Fleshy, compact and pointed leaves, blue‑green with pinkish margins.

Exposure: full sun or bright partial shade; indoors, place near a south‑ or west‑facing window. Avoid harsh midday summer sun (leaf burn).

Watering: water only when the substrate is completely dry (about every 7‑10 days in summer, 15‑20 days in winter). Avoid waterlogging – the number one enemy.

Soil type: well‑draining succulent mix (all‑purpose soil + coarse sand + pumice or perlite, in equal parts). A pot with drainage holes is essential.

Fertilisation: from spring to summer, apply a low‑nitrogen liquid fertiliser for cacti/succulents every 3‑4 weeks. Stop in autumn‑winter.

Flowers: in spring‑summer it produces arching stems with red or yellow‑orange bell‑shaped blooms at the tip. Attract pollinators.

Curiosity: the ‘Hercules’ hybrid is prized for its compact growth and hardiness; leaves turn deeper pink under controlled light stress. Easily propagated by leaf cuttings or offset division.
