Euphorbia enopla Ø 14

Presented in a refined terracotta pot from our Manera Line, this Euphorbia enopla is a true gem of chromatic contrast: its geometric stems, of an intense green and branched from the base, are entirely covered with long, stiff spines of bright purplish-red, creating a visual effect of rare power. Perfect for those who love beauty without complications, it naturally withstands drought and requires almost no attention. Just give it a bright and sunny spot to let it express its full character.

Growing notes:

• Exposure: loves bright light and direct sun; grows best in very bright positions, even a few hours of morning or afternoon sun. Tolerates partial shade but with less vivid colours.
• Watering: fears waterlogging. In spring and summer, water only when the soil is completely dry (about every 7-10 days). In autumn and winter, reduce to nearly nothing, just enough to prevent total drying.
• Soil type: needs a very well-draining substrate, ideally a cactus and succulent mix with coarse sand or pumice (60% universal potting soil + 40% inert material).
• Fertilisation: from spring to summer, apply a specific fertiliser for succulents, low in nitrogen and rich in potassium and phosphorus, every 3-4 weeks. Suspend in autumn-winter.
• Flowering: produces small, insignificant yellowish-green flowers at the tips of the stems, usually in late spring, but their beauty is secondary to the plant’s architecture.
• Curiosity: despite its threatening spines, its latex (the “milk” that oozes from cuts) is toxic and irritating to skin and mucous membranes – handle with gloves. In nature, it can exceed one metre in height, but in a pot it remains more compact.

It loves light, fears water stagnation, and content with minimal care: a sculptural plant designed for those who seek elegance and simplicity in perfect balance.
