This cultivar represents one of the most fascinating and sought-after morphological mutations in the world of Cactaceae. Unlike the typical species, it develops sculptural growth habits with extraordinary character: the longitudinal ribs transform into soft, fleshy, rounded tubercles, giving the plant an organic and sinuous architecture, famous worldwide for its shapes that evoke feminine curves (hence the Japanese nickname “Buddha’s breast”).

The surface is covered with a delicate natural pruinose bloom, which gives the plant intense bluish reflections, interrupted only by the tiny apical areoles. The result is a perfect balance between botanical elegance and decorative power, capable of instantly becoming the focal point of any space, from the most modern to the most classic.

Growing notes:

• Exposure: thrives in bright light and direct sun for at least 6 hours a day, but light afternoon shade is recommended during the hottest summer hours to prevent sunburn.
• Watering: in spring and summer, water only when the substrate is completely dry (every 7-10 days); reduce drastically in autumn and almost stop in winter, keeping the soil dry.
• Soil type: needs a very well-draining mix, ideally with silica sand, pumice, and lapilli, with limited organic content (e.g., 60% inorganic and 40% universal potting soil).
• Fertilization: apply a low-nitrogen, high-phosphorus and potassium cactus fertilizer once a month during the growing season (from May to September).
• Winter rest: keep cool (5-10°C) and dry to stimulate subsequent flowering and maintain the plant’s compact shape.
