Cactusmania

Tephrocactus geometricus f. mostruosa Ø 12

Tephrocactus geometricus f. monstrosa, unlike the typical form with perfect spheres, this “monstrous” variety breaks the original geometric symmetry to give rise to a chaotic proliferation of asymmetrical segments, irregular tubercles, and unpredictable sculptural branching. The epidermis retains the fascinating matte coloring that shades from blue‑green. A true work of abstract botanical art. No two specimens are identical. Each plant develops its own abstract architecture of segments, making your purchase a literally one‑of‑a‑kind piece.

Cultivation notes

  • Exposure: full sun or very bright light; in summer, protect during the hottest hours only if the pot is small.
  • Watering: moderate in spring‑summer (soil dry between waterings); almost completely suspend in autumn‑winter.
  • Soil: well‑draining and mineral, with coarse sand, pumice, and a little all‑purpose potting mix; slightly acidic to neutral pH.
  • Fertilizing: once a month during growth with a low‑nitrogen cactus fertilizer, diluted to half strength.
  • Winter rest: keep dry and cool (5‑10 °C) to encourage spring flowering.
